Whether this is the first time you have thought about therapy or you have been in counseling before, this process can be intimidating.
My role is to work with you to learn about yourself and your environment. We look at how you and everything around you impacts your life. We figure out what to change and how to change it. Creating change in your life is always easier when you have a guide. Together we will navigate your therapeutic path.
Each person and each situation is unique and no single treatment model works for everyone. Part of our work together is to help figure out how you change and how you get stuck. We will also work together on maintaining the change.
Some specific techniques in which I have had special training include a two year intensive training with Dr. Ross Greene learning to implement his Collaborative & Proactive Solutions therapeutic method and over 30 hours of training in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). I use many of these skills-building techniques in my work.
I received my Master's of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and my Certificate in Women's Studies from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. My concentration at Northeastern was in Cultural, Gender, and Political Psychology.
My undergraduate Bachelor's of Arts degree is in Psychology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I have been licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts since 2003 and am an active member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

Some insurances reimburse you after you have paid for the sessions out of pocket. Contact your insurance to see if that is part of your policy.
